Ensuring Water Purification, Sanitation, Health & Safety for Rural Areas in India
Transforming Rural areas in India, through Purification of Water, Sanitation, Hygiene & Safety initiatives.
Gramin Jal Swachhta Abhiyan (Rural Water Purification Initiative)
In many villages, Diseases Often Begin Due to Contaminated Drinking Water. The water consumed by villagers is not clean — it is usually Drawn Directly from Rvers Using Pumps, without any proper treatment. Sometimes, a small amount of Bleaching Powder is added, and the same water is supplied to households through pipelines.
Adding to the problem, Wastewater and Sewage from the village often flow back into the river through drainage channels, further polluting the water sources.

To address this issue, Gramonnati Seva Pratishthan has launched the Gramin Jal Swachhta Abhiyan, with the goal of providing Safe and Clean Drinking Water to rural communities.
With the Support and Participation of Local Villagers, our organization is establishing Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) to treat wastewater before it is released into natural sources. These plants also ensure that Clean, Treated Water is made available for drinking and daily use in the villages.
Through this initiative, we aim to Protect Public Health, Reduce Waterborne Diseases, and Ensure that Every Household in the Village has Access to Clean and Safe water. Together with community support, Gramonnati Seva Pratishthan is building a healthier and more sustainable rural environment.

Why Water, Sanitation, Hygiene & Safety :
In many parts of Rural Areas in India, families still struggle with limited access to clean water, inadequate sanitation facilities, and poor hygiene practices.
Contaminated water and open defecation lead to waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, and typhoid — especially affecting children and women.
Lack of sanitation also affects school attendance, particularly for adolescent girls. Poor hygiene practices further weaken community health and productivity.
Gramonnati Seva Pratishthan recognizes that Clean water and sanitation are key drivers of Health, Education, and Gender Equality. Our Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene programs align with the Sustainable Development Goal – Clean Water and Sanitation for All, ensuring that every family has access to safe water, toilets, and hygiene awareness.
